Network and Infrastructure Joint Analysis Tool (NINJA)

NewVectors’ NINJA tool is a simulation designed to help several Joint war fighting and analysis agencies determine strengths and weaknesses of logistic networks across existing or notional infrastructures and to analytically determine the critical infrastructure within a scenario.

The NINJA tool is capable of representing non-transportation networks as well, such as utility networks and communication networks. It enables the analyst to model processes from ”factory to foxhole” by providing a structure to capture factory processes, network transportation processes, and the end user processes. The analyst can then alter the networks or the processes and determine the impact of the new set of conditions upon the end user.

The NINJA tool has been designed to enable an analyst to download terrain and network information from ARC-GIS data into the model. This environmental data builds the network which transportation resources move across to meet given requirements for specified users. Transportation resources can be road, rail, or air systems that move across the networks as specified by the analyst based upon input capabilities and capacities. The analyst can also specify units and re-supply requirements and can incorporate alternative network conditions such as inclement weather or “broken” network arcs to capture the environment of interest.
