Objective Force Cost Model (OFCM)

In many programs, life cycle cost estimation and engineering design are sequential actions. This precludes design engineers from fully understanding the cost impacts of their decisions. OFCM provides near-real time parametric cost estimation of development, production, sustainment, and life cycle costs within an Advanced Collaborative Environment (ACE). Currently, configured for the WindChill environment of the NAC ACE using PRO-E CAD, NewVectors’ OFCM is adaptable to any system development. It links the CAD design with the widely used PRICE Estimating Suite to link, in near-real time, design decisions and their life cycle cost impacts. The system supplies high-fidelity WBS costs from the PRICE Models back to the ACE together with a Product Life-cycle Management System, for capture in report format and an ACE configurable format for use by other tools. NewVectors’ OFCM system provides tailorable access and information to PMs, cost analysts, and design engineers.
